The scheme of Kendriya Vidyalaya was adopted by the Govt. of India in the year 1963 on the basis of recommendation of the second pay commission . At first 20 Regimental Schools were taken up as Central School (C.S.) known as Kendriya Vidyalaya to impart education to the children of transferable Central / State Govt. employees . Later on , the same facilities have been extended all over the country and at present there are nearly 1087 Kendriya Vidyalayas . It is an autonomous organization under Ministry of HRD , Govt. of India and the Minister of HRD , Govt. of India is its chairman.
Kendriya Vidyalaya Burdwan is situated near KeshabganjChati. From Burdwan Rly. Station one can reach by local Bus/ Rickshow to Keshabganjchati via Golapbag. It is a civil sector school.
